6 Ways to Enhance Your Mindfulness Practice

As a soul-driven business, we here at Luna London are dedicated to helping our customers enhance their mindfulness practice.

These six tips will help you achieve your goals of staying present, keeping a positive mindset, and enjoying every moment to its fullest… regardless of whether you’re new to practicing mindfulness or are looking for ways to enhance the mindfulness you’ve already achieved!

  1. Make the Time

Day-to-day life is busy.

That’s why, in order to truly hone your mindfulness, you must make time each day for it … even if it’s just a few minutes!

It often makes sense to make this time in the morning—that way, you’re starting off every day right. Find mindful morning rituals that can bring calm to your day here.

After all, the seven components of mindfulness don’t come naturally to many of us. In order, they are:

  • Being non-judgemental
  • Having patience
  • Remaining open and curious
  • Developing trust
  • Being humble
  • Prioritizing acceptance
  • Having the ability to let go

When just starting out on your mindfulness journey, try visualizing each step one-by-one so as to not become discouraged. All good things take time!

  1. Find Your Practice Place

Next, choose a place in or around your home where you can sit comfortably and be at peace.

When it comes to the outdoors, we love a secluded garden so we can breathe in the scents of nature…

…Or, if you opt for the indoors, refresh your senses with a DIY candle!

As long as your space is comfortable, free of distractions, and, of course, somewhere you feel at peace, you’re on the right track.

  1. Use Your Senses

When it comes to being present, enacting your five senses can help to ground you during your meditative practices.

More specifically, this includes prompting your sense of:

  • Sight
  • Hearing
  • Scent
  • Feeling
  • And taste

Our candle collections aim to draw your focus to at least one of these senses. Try them for yourself today.

  1. Keep a Journal

When it comes to setting goals, tracking your progress, and marking your accomplishments, there are few better ways than journaling.

We recommend journaling about your mindfulness practice at least once per week in order to be able to look back and see how far you’ve come since you started.

  1. Find Your Community

Community is everything, especially when you are working on your mindfulness practice.

We consider you our community. If you need more inspiration or tips, follow us on Instagram to connect.

  1. Have Patience

Last but certainly not least, remember to have patience with yourself.

There is no such thing as being perfect from the start. All of our souls are works in progress: what makes them shine the brightest is consistency and self-love … especially when it comes to mastering the art of mindfulness.

But remember, too, that you are your own best teacher. Tune in, and have fun.
